Stories from the Golden State
“California is a place” is a project produced, directed, and shot by Drea Cooper & Zackary Canepari. With short documentaries they try to paint a picture of their sensational home state, California.
The first clip tells a somewhat deeper story about poolskating in the city of Fresno. The second one portraits the Scraper bike movement in Oakland. Real good stuff I tell you, have a look.

Last tuesday Analog and Gravis hosted a relaxed skate session in “Actionparken” in the middle of Gothenburg. Hot dogs and sodas were on the menu and I served some good tunes to the skating crowd. It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that to have a good time. Thanks to everyone who spent the day with us!

A video from Windells Mt. Hood with my old friend Dylan Thompson killing it with some truly amazing presses. Wish I could go over there for the summer.
Press Release:
Despite Mother Nature’s unwillingness to decide on a consistent weather pattern in the Northwest, it is officially summer up at Mount Hood. Windells just wrapped up Session 1, running the gamut from blue, sunny skies to fresh fallen snow. Wish you were riding some park and powder in early June? If you’re not at camp, the next best thing is the first session video of the year.

At Colour we are looking at a new camera and we stubled on this clip of skateboarding filmed in 1000 fps with the Phantom Camera and all we can say is DAMN! We want this camera but it’s a bit out of our price range about 20,000 dollars. The skate event is the City Squared Skate by BILLABONG.

Today I had my ACL reconstruction… My third knee surgery in 4 years and hopefully it will work out this time. Because not being able to ride at your full capacity is breaking you down… I’m lying in bed right now feeling nauseas and popping pain killers to get by.
To get my mood up I’ve been reading about other extreme sport athletes who have been going through multiple knee surgeries. Mega ramp skater Danny Way is one of those guys, having a surgery count of 8 on his right knee. And he is still killing it.
But he is no stranger to pain. During his third knee surgery he wanted to stay awake to actually see what they were doing. He only took local anesthetic that wore off after 30 minutes. The surgery was over 2 hours long. Danny said that it sounded like they were shifting tires on a Formel 1 car. I’m pretty happy I was put to sleep.
Check out this video of him to see what I mean.

At the Ride Shakedown in Quebec earlier this year, a bunch of riders pulled out skateboards during halftime to try their luck on a huge double kinked stair rail. Some gnarly business I tell you.

Have you ever wondered what makes Nike shoes so special and where the Nike Air really comes from? Apparently, Nike Air comes from air exhaled by Nike’s best athletes haha. Check out this video with P-Rod and others.
