Stories from the Golden State
“California is a place” is a project produced, directed, and shot by Drea Cooper & Zackary Canepari. With short documentaries they try to paint a picture of their sensational home state, California.
The first clip tells a somewhat deeper story about poolskating in the city of Fresno. The second one portraits the Scraper bike movement in Oakland. Real good stuff I tell you, have a look.

Grey is out. Gloom is gone. It’s time to live our lives in colour.
The Let’s Colour Project is a worldwide initiative to transform grey spaces with vibrant colour. A mission to spread colour all over the world.
They are working together with local communities across the globe, rolling up sleeves to paint streets, houses, schools and squares.
This 2 minute global film was shot by multi-award winning director Adam Berg over four weeks in Brazil, France, London and India. Every location is real and they remain transformed by a palette consisting of 120 different colours. The people in the film are not actors, they are real people who rolled up their sleeves to transform their community with colour.

Once a year, the french collective of street culture enthusiasts and trendsetters known as La MJC publish what you might call a “Bible” when it comes to urban fashion and culture. The over 200 pages thick book sums up month by month the biggest and most sought after releases in the realm of sneakers, apparel, books, gears and toys. And in a truly fashionable way the All Gone books are printed in a limited number.
But the folks at La MJC are kind enough to show us an outtake of the books online. And it’s more than enough to make a sneakerhead like me get some serious cravings.

Check out this longboard deisgned by Antonio Carusone of A1. Heres what he say’s about the board “When we began thinking about the 39, Buddy told me that he wanted it to be a mix of classic surf graphics with a modern touch. I did some research and I was really inspired by the simple, two-tone surf designs from the 50’s and 60’s. The shape of the board also takes its queue from the same era, featuring a classic pintail shape. For the type, I wanted to use a typeface that had a mix of both classic and modern, so I decided on Modern No. 20, which I think works perfectly. Also, believe it or not, I used a grid system for this design. Worked like a charm, even on a shape like this. Overall, I think it’s a nice package, but most important, it rides like a dream.”
You can grab one over at the Buddy Carr site. Enjoy, the ride.
